YOUNGSTOWN — The local NAACP Youth Council is planning a bus trip to Detroit on Aug. 15 that will include visits to the city's Charles H. Wright African American Museum, Motown Records, and the African World Festival.
The bus is nearly full, but spaces are still available. The youth council of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People hopes to have all guests registered for the trip by July 15.
Reserved seats will be held until that date, and then seating will change to first come, first served, said LK Williams, the council’s acting adviser.
The council continues to seek donations to pay for snacks for the trip, so those attending can directly go to their first destination without stopping for breakfast, Williams said.
