Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, blood pressure checks and beginner computer class at 9, bingo and painting class at 10, beginner computer class at 10:30, senior spinning at 11 and lunch and advanced computer class at noon; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., understanding investments video class at 9, bingo and senior spinning at 10, Zumba at 11, quilting class and trip to lunch and a movie at 11:30, lunch at noon, MV Olde Car Club show at 5 p.m. and 20/9 Radio club meeting at 7; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and medical mysteries video class at 9, bingo at 10, Fountain of Youth fitness and intermediate computer class at 11, pizza party ($3) at noon and movie matinee at 12:30 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving and ancient Italy travelogue at 9, chair yoga and SOS at 9:30, intermediate crocheting class, knitting class and vets helping vets at 10, beginner crocheting and intermediate computer classes at noon, duck pin bowling at 1 p.m., conversational Spanish class at 1:30, and dinner and grocery bingo at 5; Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and Medieval Europe travelogue at 9, bingo, discussion group and trip of consignment shopping with Minnie at 10 and senior spinning at 11; and Saturday, 20/9 Ham Fest, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information call 330-953-1416 or visit www.austintownseniorcenter.webs.com.

Gathering Place will take place at 11 a.m. July 14 at Lord of Life Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield. The event will begin at 11 a.m.. The program will start at 11:30 and will include an ice cream social, gentle exercises and board games or cards. Lunch will be served for an optional donation. Lordstown SCOPE Center, 1775 Salt Springs Road, invites all Trumbull County seniors 60 and older to game night from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Board games will be the main event. Card games other than bridge and poker also will be available. A snack will be provided for this free event. The next game night will be July 23. To register or for information, call 330-824-2173.

Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St., has planned the following: Friday, Lunch and Learn program at noon on “Affordable Health Care Act” by Beth Massaro, senior community affairs and program development specialist in Ohio, with Gateway Health. Call to register. July 18, Dr. Thomas Pokabla will offer toenail clipping from 9 a.m. to noon, by appointment only. Participants are to take their insurance cards as applicable co-pays will be billed. Call to register. July 25, Lunch and Learn at noon on “Understanding Funeral Prearrangements” by Marcia Melvin, preneed counselor with Lane Funeral Homes. Registration is required.

Senior Independence Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following: Monday, needlecraft at 10 a.m., rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., bridge at 1 p.m. and Drums Alive at 2:30; Tuesday, brush, knife and needle club at 10, rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., beginner and intermediate bridge at noon and caregiver support group at 2 p.m.; Wednesday, computer classes at 9 and 11 a.m., watercolors class at 10, rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., tap class at noon and line dancing at 1:30 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers at 9 a.m., diabetic support group at 10, rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., exercise at noon, watch our weight and 500 card club at 1 p.m. and Texas Hold’em at 2; and Friday, Wii bowling at 10 a.m., rummage sale from 10 to 3 p.m., potluck senior lunch bunch at 11:30 (take a covered dish), card and board games at noon, movie matinee at 1 p.m. and cornhole at 2. Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services Inc. is hosting a AAA Safe Driving for Mature Operators course on the following dates. Aug. 11 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Poland location, 301 W. Western Reserve Road. Aug. 18 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Warren location, 4100 North River Road. Trumbull County Senior Court AARP Driver’s Safety Program will offer a certified instructor to review driving skills and techniques and strategies for seniors to help them adjust to physical changes that could affect driving abilities. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Classes will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Girard Multigenerational Center, 443 Trumbull Ave.; or from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 29 at Niles S.C.O.P.E. Senior Center, 14 E. State St. Call for reservations at 330-675-2616. The classes are co-sponsored by the Trumbull County Probate Court.
