Sessions in the Valley

Lists of vacation Bible schools open to the public will run on the Religion page. Please include the following information: the complete name of the church; address with city or township; time, date and location of sessions; program theme; ages or grades; and whether it’s free or there is a fee. Information should be submitted two weeks before the school’s opening or its registration deadline. Send the information to the Religion Desk by email to; by fax to 330-747-6712 and marked for religion desk; or by mail to The Vindicator, P.O. Box 780, Youngstown, OH 44501-0780. For verification, include a name and phone number of a contact person, which will not be published.

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman: The church, in partnership with St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, will sponsor an activity from 9 a.m. to noon July 14-18 for 3-year-olds through fifth-graders. The free program will have the theme of “Superheroes.” To register, call the church at 330-758-8189 or get a form at the church.

Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown: “Sonrise National Park” is the theme of the free activity planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 13-17. There will be music, crafts, Bible stories and snacks. To register, call Emilie Zabel at 330-965-6291.

Gospel Temple Baptist Church, 279 Whipple Ave., Campbell: “Praising God for His Amazing Wonders” is the theme for activities planned from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program for children 3 to 12 years old will include Bible lessons, arts and crafts, recreation and music. An evening meal will be provided. Transportation is available for residents of Campbell. Registration forms can be obtained at the church or the Campbell office of Neighborhood Ministries. For information, contact Marnette Nelson at 330-755-3130.

Heritage Presbyterian Church, 1960 Mathews Road, Poland: Summer play days will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, and July 15, 22 and 29. The free program for children from 3 to 11 years old will include crafts, games, singing, snacks and Bible study of the Book of Genesis.

Zion Hill Baptist Church, 220 Jefferson St., Youngstown: “Jungle Safari: Where Kids Explore the Nature of God” is the theme of the free program planned from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 14-18. Sessions for 3- to 18-year-olds include refreshments, crafts, recreation and music. Transportation will be provided but advance arrangements are necessary. Call the church at 330-746-3832 and leave a message, including your name and telephone number, to arrange for transportation and registration.
