Methodist camp planned July 10-20
Tri-State Free Methodist Camp will conduct its 92nd annual camp meeting services from July 10-20 at the campground, 1027 Anderson Boulevard.
Pastor Thomas J. Ramundo Jr. of Michigan is this year’s camp evangelist. He will speak about “Unleashing God’s Grace” using multiple texts and passages from the Bible.
He has served in the ministry of the Free Methodist Church since 1970. The first 35 years he served as a lead pastor, followed by eight years as the superintendent of the Southern Michigan Conference.
During his 18 years as lead pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Jackson, Mich., it grew from a worship attendance of 180 to 700 through his emphasis on prayer and evangelism.
His pulpit ministry has been featured in a book by Donald Demaray and his work in the area of racial reconciliation in a book by Promise Keepers’ founder Bill McCartney. Ramundo is a pulpit guest in churches, revivals, camps, conferences, conventions and campuses.
He also teaches in the Theology Department at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. He and his wife, Noni, were married in 1969.
Campers staying on the grounds may participate in a “Christmas in July” light-up night July 16 after services at 7 p.m. Those in cottages, campers, tents and dorm rooms should decorate with a Christmas theme.
Parking is available on the grounds. Since its inception, people from many different faiths and backgrounds have attended. The camp is open to the public.
