5K Race for Autism to benefit local organizations

The Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center, led by Dr. Ted Suzelis, N.D., is teaming up with Mahoning Valley businesses to sponsor the second 5K Race for Autism and two mile walk on Aug. 16 to benefit the Autism Society of Ohio and SAFE (Supported and Facilitated Environments).

The event will take place at the Mill Creek Metroparks Bikeway Trailhead located at 6700 Kirk Road in Canfield.

Currently, the event is seeking additional co-sponsors to make it a bigger success. Interested businesses are asked to contact the center by July 7. Current co-sponsors include Healthy Treasures Health Food Store (Newton Falls), New Hope Imaging (Kent), Art Consumed (Akron) and Ultima Replenisher (New York).

This year’s proceeds will go toward Mahoning Valley autism charities with their mission of helping autistic children and their families.

The event will include a 5K run, two mile walk and a children’s fun run. Participants can register for the events at OhioND.com/5K. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runner in the 5K event and there will be a 50/50 raffle.

For race information, sponsorship opportunities or to register online, go to OhioND.com/5K, email robin@suzelis.com or call the Ohio Naturopathic Wellness Center at 330-729-1350.
