Walking in street

Police found two marijuana cigars on a woman whom they arrested on a warrant after they spotted her walking in the street at about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday at Mayfield Avenue and Hillman Street on the South Side.

Reports said officers spotted Atara Bradus, 29, of Warren, walking in the street and stopped her because it is a violation of a city ordinance to not use a sidewalk. A records check showed she had a warrant for failure to appear in municipal court on a drug paraphernalia charge. When she was taken into custody her purse was searched, and the cigars were found.

Bradus was taken to the Mahoning County jail on a charge of possession of marijuana and given a citation for not using a sidewalk.

Teens fight in street

Officers arrested a 15-year-old Linda Drive Northwest teen at about 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, fighting with another teen in the street.

Police were standing by in the 800 block of Mason Street to disperse a crowd of 100 people when they spotted two teen girls fighting at the intersection of Hillsdale Avenue and Mason.

An officer ordered them to stop but they would not. The officer was able to pull the girl who was arrested off of the other girl, who was still trying to punch her. She was ordered to stop fighting and did so, then ran away; officers did not catch her.

Reports said the girl who was arrested told police she had wanted to fight the other girl for a while and when she saw her on the street, someone pushed her and the fight started. Reports also said she was charged with a curfew violation.

Suspected drugs

Police found a bag of suspected crack cocaine and a crack pipe after pulling over a car late Tuesday evening for an improper turn at Larchmont Avenue Northeast and Elm Road.

Reports said the driver, Jon Blosser, 37, of Bayberry Drive Northeast, was moving around inside his car like he was trying to hide something after he was pulled over at about 10:40 p.m. The suspected drugs were found in his sock, and after he was taken into custody, he told police the pipe was under his seat, reports said.

Blosser was taken to Trumbull County Jail. He is charged with possession of drugs/cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
