State supreme court accepts Belinky resignation from law practice

The Ohio Supreme Court has accepted the resignation from law practice of Mark Belinky, who resigned March 14 as Mahoning County Probate Court judge and later pleaded guilty to tampering with records.

The top court’s notice this morning said the resignation is with disciplinary action pending, but the report detailing the pending discipline has been filed under seal by the top court’s disciplinary counsel.

Belinky is scheduled to be sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by visiting Judge Ronald Suster in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
