I understand and respect your thoughts here, but it all is connected. This lady has had problems and issues from long ago, then welcomes her daughter in her home here. Let us not forget , Gina's sister lives in the apartment (per the story) with a 2 year old child. Now this lady overdosed on ?? drug. She is a train wreck of a person bent on self distruction and the destruction of her children being around her. We as parents are to protect our children, she is letting them see the dark side of life and how to live it. I do not blame her for her daughters death, but damm sure hold her accountable for her own actions and the well being of others in her apartment. She just did not start drugs with this OD...Is has been a life and she should have rebuked Gina's visit and stay till she was clean. This was a 16 year old young lady searching for a spot to land. It should have never been here with this bio woman...And I AGREE, this soul less punk bastard needs to get his due, slowly and with much pain. Prison will do nothing for him. He is to gone for prison, his life should be taken as he took a life.
And I still say the other woman is involved someway....covering her ass right now...

In this situation, the birth mother's sins are highly relevant to this tragedy. Read the previous article about the troubled life this poor girl had to endure because of the mother's situation and it provides context to this story. Her birth mother failed her. When you bring another human into this world, you bear the responsibility of providing a stable, caring, nurturing environment for the child, not one where you smoke crack or shoot junk into your veins. There were many allegations of physical and sexual abuse against Bacher, especially from her husband. ANy chance that some of this happened while she was passed out in a drug coma or hyped up and couldn't control themselves? Children learn from example and they want to be pleasing to their parents, make them proud and do good things. Many people failed her. None of this distracts from the scum that killed her. It provides relevant background to this tragedy.

Compass West is nothing more than a whore house and drug den. White trash and degenerates from the southside are holed up over there. Low income, single unwed mothers, druggies, etc....the scum of the earth hibernate there. More than one family living in those apts. Poor Austintown inhereting all the low lifes from youngstown. Used to be a nice place to live but not anymore.

Ok, so the mother allegedly has issues. Focusing on these alleged acts is just callous. Being brought up in less than favorable circumstances does not justify murdering someone in cold blood. That 16 year old girl died a horrific death and that should not be forgotten. The person responsible should be tortured until dead, starting with a dose of hydrochloric acid to remove that smirk from his face.

No Walter ( don't agree with you and others who are placing the blame on the mother or Gina's life circumstances. Her mother obviously has a drug addiction but as unfit she may have been, she is still dealing with the loss of a child. Possibly it wasn't an accidental overdose?

From my previous post:

As people try to make sense of why Gina was murdered focus on this fact: "His purpose was to kill someone that day; didn’t matter who it was. He just happened to come across this young girl,” said Ken Cardinal, an assistant county prosecutor" http://www.vindy.com/comments/post/?n...

There are people who out there who are pure evil. This girl's upbringing and past had NOTHING to do with the fact that she happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. This could have been you. I get the sense that people are trying to blame this young girl for her demise. You wouldn't think of blaming any of the school mass shooting victims or their families for what happened to them. Let this poor soul rest in peace.
