UPDATED | Williams could face death penalty for Burger murder

Published: Wed, July 2, 2014 @ 10:54 a.m.

AUSTINTOWN

Ricki D. Williams IV, 18 of Youngstown, arrested in connection with Gina Burger’s death, was given a $750,000 bond on multiple felony charges today.

Williams faces felony charges of aggravated murder, two counts of kidnapping, intimidation, tampering with evidence, two counts of abduction, possession of criminal tools, abuse of corpse, and one misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass.

While he could not enter a plea to the many felony charges at this morning’s arraignment, he entered a plea of not guilty on the criminal trespass charge.

According to the police report, Williams burglarized a Youngstown home on June 23 and stole a vehicle from that home that he then drove to 987 Compass West Apartments.

The victim of the theft found his vehicle in the rear of the apartments with Williams still in the vehicle. The two exchanged words and Williams made threats that he had a gun with him. The incident was reported to detectives June 27.

That same night Williams is alleged to have killed Burger in the apartment complex.

U.S. Marshals apprehended Williams on the criminal trespass charge on Lakeview Avenue on Youngstown’s West Side Tuesday night.

According to a criminal activity report given by Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor Ken Cardinal, Williams admitted to taking part in the stabbing of and disposal of Gina Burger’s body at 987 Compass West on June 23.

Cardinal said he was going to ask the grand jury for the death penalty in the case.

“His purpose was to kill someone that night,” Cardinal said.

When is something going to be done about the scourge of "BLACK ON WHITE CRIME?"

Never, that would be considered racist, remember???? Anyway this idiot will play the dumb card and he'll be on death row for 30 years like Danny Hill.

The only answer that will work is t throw these thugs into prison for longer and longer periods of time. Stop worrying about their rights or the racial make-up of the prison populations. If someone commits a crime while carrying a gun, it should be a minimum sentence of 20 years with no parole. When the get out after 20 years, any violation of parole should result in 20 more years with no parole. If caught with an illegal gun, it should be a minimum of 10 years with no parole. If guilty of murder, it should be the death penalty. The courts just have to speak in language that they understand.

'June 23 and stole a vehicle ....victim of the theft found his vehicle ....incident was reported to detectives June 27.'
Reading between the lines, the victim knew the crud, and where to look. If he reported it that day, Gina would probably be alive.
'admitted to taking part in the stabbing of and disposal of'...
Taking part in?? Does that imply there may be more than one suspect?

987 Compass West Apartments has been a safe haven for criminals for far too long. Management there takes a blind eye to criminal activity.

this trash was considered "homeless". Now he'll have a home for a long time, at the taxpayers expense

So there was more than one person involved, as implied.
Offering that 'last cigarette' says this was thought out and planned, not a heat of battle rage crime. This POS needs to be put down.
How is they have all that info and Vindy has not reported yet?

The Vindy wouldn't carry the WTAE story because they don't want you to get inflamed toward Ricki D. Williams IV. Must be all about giving him a fair trial. Let's see what evidence his attorney will want suppressed.

Oh yeah, the WTAE story made my blood boil! This poor girl led a tragic life and then had it ended by this shred of human debris. Seems like they have the physical evidence along with a "witness". Gotta love that Section 8!

Checking the dumpster there should have a no brainer for law enforcement. Ricki D. Williams IV carrying the makeshift body bag should have raised suspicion. He was well known and trusted. I feel that there is a lot more to the story.

So,who will be picking up The Justice Brothers, Jesse and Al, at the airport?

The sick POS actually asked the mom if she wanted to buy the pack n play her dead daughter was in as to taunt her. This is insane behavior, not mental incompetence. I pray someone disposes of this waste of sperm in jail or in prison and they make it hurt really bad.

How come all these violent assaults and murders (overwhelmingly black on white) never make it to the main stream media?!!! Seems this is being done on purpose. Blacks will swear that it's always whites assaulting them! Unbelievable!!!

@JMHO
"So,who will be picking up The Justice Brothers, Jesse and Al, at the airport?"

Well, my best guess would be the guy that amazingly found his stolen car with the piece of garbage in it at Compass West, was supposedly threatened with a gun, and then shut his mouth for four days until Gina's body was confirmed. Who does that?

Your car get's stolen, you miraculously find it with the perp still in it, you live to tell about it. Then, in the days following probably know there is a missing person investigation, and keep your mouth shut until you think "Oh crap, someone might think I did that" Presumably after Gina's body was positively IDed..

Sharpton and Jackson do nothing to advance the black community. If they cared, they would have made a difference by now. Why? It is just a money-making racket for them... Selling Victimhood is all they have left. It is not enough that we have a black president, a black Attorney General. All sorts of black people have attained success. That doesn't pay Jesse's and Al's bills though. Creating victims and further dividing people does.

Another thing, speaking of the President. Will Obama get on TV tomorrow and make a speech about this and say something like "If I had a son, he would look just like Ricki"? The way he did with Trayvon Martin?

Well, I just wonder......

RIP Gina, you were loved by many.

Hopefully something horrible happens to this skinny coward in the county. The deputies should turn off the cameras.

I agree JRBYoungstown. Is there some other thug in county right now facing death or life in prison where we can all donate to his commissary to get rid of trashy Williams? And in the most inhumane way possible? I'll vote for the sales tax levy if they can make it happen.

There is no turning off the cameras in the county anymore. This POS low-life scoundrel will get to spend many many years institutionalized at our expense which beats him being out in the streets causing more destructive behavior but not as nice for him as a nice public hanging quickly. smoothly, no appeals.
