Campbell police probe burglaries

Published: Wed, July 2, 2014 @ 11:29 a.m.

CAMPBELL

Police are investigating two burglaries reported within a couple of hours late Monday and early Tuesday.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a residence in the 3800 block of Murray Avenue. The homeowner told police that she left her home on Friday evening and returned a few hours later to find her flat screen televisions missing, though there were no signs of forced entry.

At 1:12 a.m. Tuesday, police reported to a residence in the 200 block of 10th Street after being notified of a burglary in progress there. They noticed a broken-out rear basement window and an open side door.

Upon entering the house, officers were met by the 68-year-old homeowner who said he had been woken up by noises and commotion downstairs. His desktop computer, monitor and keyboard were missing, along with numerous ceramic figurines. Police found a piece of broken window with a fingerprint on it and took it as evidence.
