2 Cleveland men injure each other in shootout

Associated Press

CLEVELAND

Two men are recovering from gunshot wounds after shooting each other during an argument in Cleveland early Tuesday.

Police say a 23-year-old man is hospitalized with two gunshot wounds to the chest. He has not been charged.

A 20-year-old man was shot in the foot. He also has not been charged but is in police custody.

Cleveland police say officers received a report of a male shot just after midnight. They soon received a second call about another gunshot victim.

Officers interviewed both men at the hospital and learned they had engaged in a shootout prompted by an argument.

Police said in a news release that the men gave conflicting stories to officers about who pulled his gun first.
