Mahoning commissioners may award contract for courthouse restoration today

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County commissioners may award the architectural and engineering services contract for the historic restoration and preservation of the nearly 103-year-old county courthouse during their meeting at 10 a.m. today in the courthouse basement.

An item on the agenda calls for a vote on whether to award the $510,000 contract to ms consultants inc. of Youngstown.

The commissioners have a vacant building at the annex that they can't unload, they constantly bemoan the fact that they have no money and restoration of buildings the age of the courthouse downtown are exorbitant.
Do not they consider anything but the preservation of buildings. The preservation of capital is much more important. In addition, there is more parking and easier access.
But alas, they are politicians, plain and simple.
