Youngstown man charged with drug possession after traffic stop in Campbell

Published: Wed, January 29, 2014 @ 11:25 a.m.

CAMPBELL — A 29-year-old Youngstown man faces a drug-possession charge after city police stopped him for speeding and found suspected marijuana in his car.

Shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday, police stopped Vincent Lebron, of Mahoning Avenue, on 12th Street. According to the report, officers immediately noticed a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside of Lebron’s car.

A search of the car revealed a marijuana cigarette in the ashtray. Police confiscated the cigarette, along with $95 that was in the glovebox.

Lebron is charged with possession of drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor, and cited for speeding. He was released on bond, and is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.

Maybe the Campbell police are trying to make the city a better place to live? Maybe just maybe the citizens of Campbell don't want their city to be known as the place to go for drugs. Did you watch the CBS news last night about the heroin addict? And the role marijuana played?

Maybe some day it will be legalized. Until then I say good job Campbell police and keep up the good work enforcing the laws that are in effect.
