Associated Press

LIMA, Ohio

Police say a man was able to swim out of his car after it plunged into an icy river.

Officers in Lima say the man was so cold that his clothes froze to his body.

Police tell The Lima News that the car broke through a fence and plunged about 20 feet into the Ottawa River early Friday.

They say Robert Smith III of Lima was treated for minor facial injuries and cold-weather exposure.
