Trial date postponed for man accused of impersonating cop

Published: Thu, January 23, 2014 @ 3:39 p.m.

BROOKFIELD — The trial for a former Boardman Township cop charged with impersonating a police officer has been postponed and a new hearing scheduled in Eastern District Court.

Atty. James Gentile, representing Stephen Kendall, 41, of Salem, received a continuance of the case from today to 9 a.m. Feb. 27. The February hearing date is a pretrial hearing, not a trial.

Kendall was charged May 13, 2012, after a Hartford Township police officer made a traffic stop on Kendall because of a purported stop-sign violation. The officer said Kendall indicated he was a Boardman police officer even though Kendall had been fired from his job with the Boardman Police Department in 2007.

Yep DwightK, it's the same guy. Apparently he forgot he's registered as a sex offender when claiming to be a cop. Dumbest criminals material for sure.
