Board: Former Warren man will remain in prison

Staff report

The Ohio Parole Board has ordered that former Warren resident Terrance Stargell remain locked up in Ohio’s prison system at least 41/2 more years for raping, robbing and beating a disabled 62-year-old woman when he was 18.

Stargell, 45, will be eligible for another parole hearing in October 2018.

Stargell lived on Jackson Street Southwest in 1987 when he raped a woman living on Loveless Avenue near the former Warren Western Reserve High School.

Stargell entered the home with a 27-year-old woman, who took many of the victim’s belongings. Stargell then tied the woman up, killed her dog and raped her.

A judge in Trumbull County sentenced Stargell to 15 to 70 years in prison. He was paroled in early 2009 after serving 22 years in prison, but he promptly violated his probation by stalking a female manager at the Dollar General store in Campbell and went back to prison.
