Kokrak stays in contention

Published: Fri, January 10, 2014 @ 6:55 p.m.

— Jason Kokrak stayed in contention Friday with a second-round 67 in the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club.

Kokrak started the second round on No. 10. He made birdies on the 11th and 18 holes and made par on every other hole on the back nine.

Kokrak started the front side with birdies on Nos. 1 and 2, but followed that up with back-to-back bogeys. He then made four consecutive pars and finished the second round with a birdie on No. 9.

Kokrak is currently alone in third place at 7-under par 133, but much of the field is still on the course.
