BOOSTERS

Girard Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria

McDonald Music Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the high school.

CLASSES

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s Restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1950 will meet at noon Wednesday for lunch at Bedford Trails Golf Course.

Campbell Memorial Class of 1955 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ in the Mathews Road Plaza in Boardman for its monthly breakfast. Class members, spouses and guests are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. Classmates and guests are welcome.

CLUBS

Beta Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma will meet Thursday at Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.

College Club of Sharon will meet at 1 p.m. March 8 in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon. Gabriel Palmer-Fernandez, Ph.D., a professor in the department of philosophy and religion at Youngstown State University, will speak about “Medical Ethics in Today’s World.” He also is director of the Dr. James Dale Ethics Center at YSU. Hostesses will be Paula Haehnel and Barbara Clawson. Any woman who holds a four-year degree or a two-year associate degree from an accredited college or university is eligible for membership. Mahoning Valley Civil War Round Table will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 10 at Antone’s Banquet Centre in Boardman. Jeffrey Hill, author and historian, will present “The 26th Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry: The Groundhog Regiment.” Dinner meetings are $13 per person, and reservations are required. Poland Center Homemakers will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Friendly’s in Poland.

Trumbull County Travel Club had its Jump into Spring meeting, and Wendt Tours featured a slide presentation of the club’s Maine Fall Foliage Trip and the May Kentucky Derby and Bourbon Trail two-day minivacation. All day trips plus the Niagara on the Lake, Canada, two-day trip were discussed. Brochures with details of all trips were given to club members.

Warren Women’s Connection invites all women to a luncheon with the theme “Life’s Recipe,” from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 10 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE, Warren. A free nursery is available by reservation. The event will feature Phyliss Echement with Pampered Chef. Aubrey Reese will sing, and the inspirational speaker will be Jean Pyper on “From emotional coldness to openness and joy.” The cost is $13 per person, all inclusive. ASG-Niles Silver Thimbles will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Viking Sewing Center, 40 Youngstown-Warren Road (Route 422), Niles. Needles, Threads and Notions will be the program. Take fabric to share for Veterans’ quilts project, rotary cutter and cutting mat. Call 330-538-2819.

LEAGUES

Boardman Poland Junior Women’s League will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Glenellen Assisted Living, 9661 Market St., Boardman. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of Poland Library will meet Tuesday in the library meeting room. Coffee hour will begin at 9:30 a.m. Hostesses will be Susan Beil, Sally Foster, Bonnie Lambert and Ann Trefethern. The program will be presented by Jack Shipsky, who will talk about the history of the Poland Woods. Books, magazines, CDs and DVDs are collected for the book cart. In April there will be a luncheon catered by Kravitz. Reservations and payment deadline is March 20. The meetings are open to the public, and new members are welcome.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Aglow International Alliance Lighthouse will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alliance Christian Center, 670 W. Main st., Alliance. The donation is $3. Featured will be Julie Brammer, a missionary who has traveled to Tanzania, Africa; and Goa, India. She has served in youth ministry in Belize and ministers in music teams with percussion instruments. Those who attend the meeting are asked to take snacks and/or finger foods to share. Torrie Anthony will be the April speaker.

Community Christian Women will meet March 10 at First Presbyterian Church in Columbiana. The author of “Journey to Freedom,” Charlotte Marky of Akron, will be the speaker. She will tell of her journey through the destruction of World War II. There will be a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. for a donation of $6. Reservations should be made with your church representative or by calling Carolyn Beck at 330-482-2155, Helen Winegord at 330-482-2152 or Lois Weyman at 330-482-2776. The reservation deadline is Thursday.

Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the K. of C. Hall, 122 S. State St.

Mothers of the Crucifix Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Cathy Zack will preside. Plans for the card party to be March 30 will be discussed. Hostesses are Carol Amicone, Jo McMillan and Bev Pondillo.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.

Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. The speaker this week will be Dan Rivers from Clear Channel-WKBN Radio. Guests and new members are welcome.

SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group, which meets at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, has planned the following: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mardi Gras Party at Ciminero’s Banquet Centre; 7 p.m. Tuesday, dance classes at Judy Conti’s in Austintown; 7 p.m. Wednesday, bowling practice at Wedgewood Lanes; 7:30 p.m. Thursday, new member meeting at the church; 6 p.m. March 7, meet for a fish dinner at St. Michael Church in Canfield.

SOCIETIES

SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Northside Medical Center, Medical Office Building A, 500 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. Meetings are free and open to all caregivers, family members and friends with a loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
