Obama threatens consequences for Ukraine violence

TOLUCA, Mexico (AP) — President Barack Obama today urged Ukraine to avoid violence against peaceful protesters or face consequences, as the United States considered joining European partners to impose sanctions aimed at ending deadly street clashes that are sparking fears of civil war. “There will be consequences if people step over the line,” Obama said shortly after landing in Mexico for a summit with the leaders of Mexico and Canada, as fires burned in central Kiev. “And that includes making sure that the Ukrainian military does not step in to what should be a set of issues that can be resolved by civilians.”

Obama threatens consequences?

Another "Syrian style" Red Line that keeps being moved as the goal post is approached.

Oh, yes, he is President Obama who can make up his own rules as the game plays.

Obama killed Osama. What did Bush do?
Oh, I almost forgot, he invaded Iraq, a country that had NOTHING to do with Bin Laden or 9/11. Bush started all the bailouts for Wall Street, yep, the Neo-Cons are right, he did accomplish more than Obama!!

What you do is LEAD the country into what is best in the US national interest. The problem WE have is we are spending too many govt dollars and getting nothing in return. Our INCREASING yearly deficits have led to massive debt that needs to be balanced with borrowing. Thus, we can't get tough China since they purchase so much of our debt. We need energy independence so that the US can rely less on foreign economic stability. But, Barry won't even approve a pipeline through the country to help energy matters. Most of the promises that Barry made during the 2008 campaign have yet to materialize; close Gitmo, pull our troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, stabilize middle east, etc. Instead, he waffles, forms more committees, keeps looking into things...i.e. feckless foreign policy. Syria red line was nothing more than shaking a finger and doing nothing. Sadly, Barry is worthless as a leader because his only value is delivering a speech. He can't act. That is what happened with Benghazi; the phone rang at 3:00 am and apparently the janitor answered the phone, then called for pizza. Words must be backed up with actions and Barry has put the US into a position that we can't act. Thus, at this point, all he can do is shake his finger at Putin and tell the Ukraine that they are on their own.

@ dontbeafool:

>> So you say bomb em too Joe? <<

No, bombs are the last resort. They are to be used when you have imminent national threat.

I think we need to throttle back the desire to be the world's policeman.

There are enough problems here at home with a run away government.

@ dontbeafool:

Patience, my friend, patience.

I maintain that we should not be involved in certain foreign affairs unless they present a clear and present danger to our national health.

Of course, Obama can make all of the proclamations that he wants but their credibility diminishes daily, both foreign and domestically.

@fool -- I said it was Bush's fault....I'm on you guys side, obomba shot osama and all that. See...I'm following the lefty talking points like a good little sheep! Why should Eivo and I have to be SERIOUS when obozo can just clown around with our national stature? He just wants to be the big man (he's not), stand on the stage and make idle threats and draw moving red lines, he's a joke! What would I do? I don't have all the intel at my disposal so I cannot say. What I would NOT do is draw any color lines that I was not 100% ready to back up.

@fool-- I believe you have a comprehension problem. I did not say "nothing"...I said I do not have the proper intel to make a decision at this point. I am not in favor of Syria having WMD (some of which probably came from Iraq) nor am I in favor of helping people who might be siding with al queda. I would need some facts which oblamo is privy to and I would make a decision and stick to it.
"when the POTUS was looking under his desk for WMD's" <--- looks like a "12 year old critical, sarcastic statement" to me so don't play high and mighty cause you're not! Also don't forget that hillary/kerry/et al and a lot of intel services were also under that desk.

@fool - That's right...putin took care of the problem (ukraine) and obozo's bark didn't make one iota of difference. (that is what you meant with that drivel, right?).
p.s. maybe YOU should "stfu" ...you might not be thought of as a fool.
