Disabled woman dies in Mecca house fire

MECCA

A 75-year-old disabled woman died in her home today in a house fire at 7199 Phillips-Rice Road. Fire officials were not releasing her name. She was home with her daughter and son in law ehen the fire started about 12:44 p.m. The daughter and son in law tried to put out the fire and tried to rescue her, but were unable to, Mecca Fire Chief Curt Woofter said. A Trumbull County sheriff’s deputy was the first emergency personnel to arrive. He also was unable to get her out. The house was a complete loss and her body was removed about 3:15 p.m.
