Area schools register for kindergarten
Mahoning Valley schools are registering students for kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year. Some dates and details:
Boardman: 9 to 11 a.m., 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Market Street, Robinwood Lane, Stadium Drive and West Boulevard elementary schools — children must be age 5 on or by Aug. 1. A completed registration form is required as well as proof of immunization and the school health record, official birth certificate, two proofs of residency, custody papers if applicable and $25 to cover cost of supplies.
Brookfield: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. March 11 and March 14 at Brookfield Elementary School, Bedford Road Southeast — children must be 5 years old by Aug. 1. To register, you must bring the child’s official birth certificate, Social Security card, parent’s or legal guardian’s Ohio driver’s license or state identification card, proof of custody if applicable, current immunization records and two proofs of residency.
Lowellville: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today through Wednesday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday — children must be age 5 by Sept. 30 to register. Child’s birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residency and proof of custody is applicable are required.
St. Patrick School registers new students in K-8
St. Patrick School, a Lumen Christi School, 38 E. Water St., is accepting new student registration for kindergarten through eighth grade for the 2014-15 school year.
The school offers busing from Brookfield, Liberty, Hubbard and Youngstown as well as a before/after-school child-care program. The Ed Choice Scholarship is accepted. The school also accepts the new Ed Choice Expansion Scholarship, which gives incoming kindergarteners and first-graders a scholarship to attend the school based on family income. A family of four can make up to $47,100 annually and receive a scholarship. Applications for other forms of financial aid also are available, as is a monthly payment plan.
