New emergency department
Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC’s new emergency department (ED) recently opened. The design creates a better experience for patients, staff and physicians by bringing patients in closer proximity to key hospital services, including imaging, the Womancare Birth Center, patient and operating rooms, said Leslie C. Davis, Magee president.
The ER has a private room designed to provide better care of sexual assault victims; design consideration for bariatric and geriatric patients; accommodations for emergency medical service; and an exam room with in-room obstetric ultrasound capability.
