Revival planned

YOUNGSTOWN

Mount Olive Fire Baptized Holiness Church, 124 W. Marion Ave., will conduct a Sunday school and back-to-school revival at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday with evangelist the Rev. Martha E. Taylor. The Rev. Mary Kidd is pastor.

Conference Sunday

CORTLAND

An awareness, readiness and preparedness conference is planned from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Doer’s of The Word, 162 S. High St.

Guest speakers will be Sarah Fowler, 11:30 a.m. to noon, Wendy Wilson, noon to 12:45 p.m., Dan Hromada, 1 to 1:45., Skip Claypool, 2 to 2:45, Ron Young and Matt Lynch, 3 to 4:30, and Gib Ingwer and Dan Haas, 4:30 to 5.

An offering will be taken to benefit Geauga County Right to Life.

Concert at church

CORTLAND

Hamilton Road Quartet will present a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Bible Church, 2878 Warren-Meadville Road.

The quartet is a four-part harmony recording group from Columbus who has been singing for more than 12 years.

A nursery will be provided. A free-will offering will be taken.

Outdoor worship

BOARDMAN

The Church of the Rock will conduct worship at 5 p.m. Aug. 24 at Maag Amphitheater at Boardman Park. Participants should bring lawn chairs.

Labyrinth walk

VILLA MARIA, PA.

Villa Maria will host a guided labyrinth walk on the theme “A Path of Healing” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on the grounds of Villa Maria Community Center.

The labyrinth at Villa Maria is a replica of the one found in Chartres Cathedral in France. A labyrinth, unlike a maze, has one path in and returns on the same path to exit. It appears that Labyrinths were used as a walking meditation for the spiritual seeker.

Mission Day

YOUNGSTOWN

New Grace Missionary Baptist Church, 909 Fairgreen Ave., will conduct its annual Mission Day at noon Aug. 25 with guest speaker Dr. L. T. King of First Zion Baptist Church in Cleveland.

The theme is “God’s Mercies Endureth Forever“ from Psalm 118:1.

New ministry

YOUNGSTOWN

The “FRESH” Church, 3147 Glenwood Ave., will have its official ministry launch at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 24.

Special musical guests will be C. Lamont Brown and Unmerited Favor. Elder Cameron Bowman is pastor with minister Sierah Bowman.

Food will be served.

Choirs’ anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN

Adults choirs of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 2821 Hillman St., will celebrate their 45th anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Guest speaker will be the Rev. Otis Smith of New Orleans.

Music will be provided by Men on A Mission of Alliance.

Anniversary event

YOUNGSTOWN

Butler Memorial Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Rayen Ave., will celebrate its 91st anniversary at 11 a.m. Sunday with guest speaker Dr. Victor Wan-Tatah, professor of philosophy and religious studies at Youngstown State University.
