Campbell man arrested for drugs

CAMPBELL — City police arrested a 22-year-old resident late Sunday on charges of trafficking in drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

James Carter, of the 100 block of Roosevelt Drive, will answer to those charges at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Campbell Municipal Court. He is being held without bond at the city jail until then.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, police stopped a car driven by Carter on 12th Street for having only one working headlight. The dispatcher, who confirmed that Carter has a valid driver's license, told the on-duty officer that the last time he came in contact with Carter, he was arrested for felony possession of drugs.

A search of the car produced a large plastic bag containing three small bags of suspected marijuana.

Carter was given a verbal warning for the traffic violation.

Jimmy we're okay with the burnt out headlight, but this weed, we got issues with that.

OMG 3 small baggies of Marijuana, *gasp* Its Pablo Escobar returned from the dead!

Way to keep the streets safe CPD. Im sure the thousands of dollars spent to keep this dangerous menace off the streets is worth it.
