Published: Sat, August 9, 2014 @ 11:36 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

Police flooded several West Side streets investigating a report of a man shot in a car in the 400 block of North Glenellen Avenue at about 10:45 tonight.

Officers were told that the man who fired the shots then chased someone towards Burbank Avenue with a gun, then fled towards Schenley Avenue.

Police were called in from other areas of the city and searched, but could not find anyone matching the description of the person with the gun.

Also, when officers arrived there was no victim and no bullets, shell casings, blood or other evidence of a shooting. They were monitoring area hospitals for gunshot victims but none had arrived as of this hour.
