Priest appointments

YOUNGSTOWN

Bishop George V. Murry of the Diocese of Youngstown has made the following priest appointments.

Effective Sept. 1, the Rev. Thomas Kraszewski will be pastor of St. Anthony/All Saints Parish in Canton. Effective Aug. 16, the Rev. Edward Stafford, Third Order Regular Franciscans, has been appointed parochial vicar, associate pastor, of St. Rose Church in Girard.

Father Kraszewski was ordained May 24, 1997, by Bishop Thomas Tobin. He has served as parochial vicar at St. Nicholas Parish in Struthers, St. Patrick Parish in Kent and St. Paul Parish in North Canton. He is the current pastor of St. Stephen Parish in Niles and St. Mary Parish in Mineral Ridge.

Father Stafford was ordained Nov. 20, 1999, as a Franciscan priest. He has served in a variety of assignments in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He is parochial vicar at Christ the Servant Parish in Canton. A native of Youngstown, Father Stafford is seeking incardination into the Diocese of Youngstown.

Ministries chapter

Pastors Daniel and Denise Lutz from New Life in Christ Church in Washington, Pa., will be guest speaker when the Youngstown Chapter of Igniting New Life Ministries, an interdenominational ministry, meets Aug. 18 at Georgeanna Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road.

Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m. with ministry at 7.

Labyrinth walk

CANFIELD

The next guided labyrinth walk at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on the theme β€œOn the Path to Accepting Walks.”

The labyrinth is a ministry of the Ursuline Sisters of Youngstown and open year-round from dawn to dusk for all people of faith.

There is no cost to use the labyrinth, which is handicapped-accessible.

Diocesan guild

YOUNGSTOWN

The Diocesan Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will meet Friday at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 430 Williamson Ave. The rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10.

Speaker planned

YOUNGSTOWN

The Rev. Dr. Lesllie Nsame, an African prophet, will speak at 6 p.m. Friday and Aug. 16 and 10 a.m. Aug. 17 at Fifth Avenue Community Church, 1361 Fifth Ave., with Pastor Mary Hall as host. It is a program of Light World Mission International, Apostolic Invasion USA.

Church anniversary

POLAND

Prince of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2985 Center Road, will celebrate its 55th anniversary as a congregation Sept. 14. Friends and former members are invited to join the congregation in a special worship service and picnic on that day.

Guest speaker

YOUNGSTOWN

The adult choir of Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 2821 Hillman St., will host guest speaker, the Rev. Otis Smith of New Orleans, at 4 p.m. Aug. 17.

Music will be provided by Men on a Mission from Alliance.
