YOUNGSTOWN — Police say Marquell McLane, 27, and Charles Moore, 23, were the victims in a double homicide about 9 p.m. Thursday on Willow Creek on the East Side.

Chief of Detectives Capt. Brad Blackburn said it appears the two shot each other during an exchange of gunfire. Both men lived on the East Side, he added.

Their deaths bring the city's homicide total to eight for the year. There were 10 homicides in Youngstown as of this time last year. In 2013, the city had 20 homicides.
