CORAOPOLIS, Pa.

Investigators say the elderly caretaker of a cemetery near Pittsburgh died in a fire at his house on the property.

Officials say 98-year-old Andrew Gupp died Thursday morning at the Ahavath Achim Cemetery in Kennedy Township.

An Allegheny County fire marshal was investigating the cause of the fire, which appears to have begun in the living room about 6:30 a.m.

Cemetery president Martin Jacobs says Gupp, who looked much younger than his age, had lived on the grounds for decades.

Kennedy Township Fire Department Capt. Justin Gutt says the victim was known in the neighborhood for being very sociable.
