Cheer camp to be Aug. 18-20

The Canfield High School junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders will be hosting a kids’ cheer camp from 9 a.m. until noon on Aug. 18-20 at the CHS gymnasium. The camp is open to those entering pre-kindergarten through eighth grade and the cost is $45. Included in the three days of camp is a camp tee-shirt and a daily snack. Parents are invited to the campers’ cheer/dance exhibition at 11:15 a.m. on Aug. 20. Sign-up forms are available in the CHS athletic office or sign up the first morning. Contact Coach Williams at 330-719-1934 with any questions.

Construction to begin

The ground will break any day for the indoor training complex at Canfield High School. The complex, to be named The James and Coralie Centofanti Sports Complex, is becoming a reality thanks to private donations from the Canfield community, including The James and Coralie Centofanti Charitable Foundation, Canfield Athletic Boosters, Canfield Rotary, J. Ford Crandall Foundation, Simon Roofing, York Mahoning, Tudor Physical Therapy Centers, Bob and Chuck Eddy families, Stephen Berry, Steve Delucia and other individuals and businesses. The complex will boast usable field space that measures 80 feet by 48 feet, two full length batting cages, two movable pitching mounds, cage nets for batting practice, concessions, restrooms and heat. The complex will be located on the high school campus between the baseball and softball fields. For more information, contact Canfield Athletic Director, Greg Cooper.
