Ohio man gets 25 years in prison for child porn on Facebook
GEORGETOWN, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio man whose illegal child pornography was discovered on Facebook and reported by the social network’s law-enforcement division has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The prosecutor’s office in Brown County says 55-year-old Marcus Spaulding pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony charges of possessing and sharing child pornography.
Prosecutors say Spaulding was arrested last year after Facebook’s law-enforcement division alerted authorities of illegal activity on his account. It was then investigated by the county sheriff’s office.
Prosecutor Zac Corbin says it was one of the most-disturbing cases he has encountered, and it underscores that child pornography is often disseminated via social media.
Spaulding was sentenced in Georgetown, southeast of Cincinnati. His attorney didn’t return a call seeking comment today.
