Twenty-nine area organizations received grants totaling $334,909 by the distribution committee of The Youngstown Foundation. Grants were awarded from the unrestricted fund, Hine Memorial Fund, Mahoning Valley Sports Charities, and several donor advised and restricted funds. Unrestricted Fund

ACTION (Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods): $5,000 in support of the Home for Good re-entry program.

Antonine Sisters Adult Day Care: $15,000 for the purchase of kitchen equipment for the new assisted-living and memory-care facility.

Common Wealth Inc.: $15,000 toward construction of the kitchen incubator.

D&E Counseling Center: $15,000 for expansion of Camp Challenge parking lot.

Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley: $5,000 for program funding in the Youngstown City Schools.

Park Vista Retirement Community: $10,000 to assist with construction of the Lifelong Learning Center.

YMCA: $10,000 toward the summer program for inner-city youths.

Youngstown State University: $13,875 for the development of the Senior Youth Mentorship Program.

7th Ward Citizens Coalition: $15,000 to provide materials and supplies for community-improvement initiatives.

SMARTS: $5,000 to assist with organizational and program development.

Turning Point Counseling Services: $15,000 one-time support for addition of staff person to manage expansion of group therapy programs.

Hine Memorial Fund

Down Syndrome Association of the Mahoning Valley: $7,500 in support of the iCan Shine Bike Camp.

Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries: $9,000 to provide follow-up services to children identified as at risk through the amblyopia screening process.

Autism Society: $5,000 in support of Camp FRIEND, a one-week day camp for children with autism.

Youngstown CityScape: $137,500 to construct a universally designed playground in Wick Park.
