ASSOCIATIONS

Tri-Gold Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will meet Aug. 13 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. The social will begin at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6. The speaker for the evening will be Missy Williams, librarian at the Poland Library. The topic will be the history of Poland and the Poland Library. The menu will be stuffed shells, baked chicken, baked white fish, rice pilaf, green beans with mushroom cream sauce, tossed salad, tomato with green pepper salad and bean salad and an ice cream sundae. The cost is $19. Call 330-545-5957 for reservations. Guests are always welcome.

Trumbull Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon Aug. 12 at Ciminero’s in Niles. The group meets the second Tuesday of the month, bimonthly.

CLASSES

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s Restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1950 will meet at noon Wednesday for lunch at Bedford Trails Golf Course.

Campbell Memorial Class of 1955 will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ in the Mathews Road Plaza in Boardman for its monthly breakfast. Class members, spouses and guests are welcome.

Chaney High School Class of 1948 will meet at 1 p.m. Aug. 12 at Denny’s in Austintown for a luncheon. All are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1951 will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Landmark Restaurant, 7424 Market St., Boardman. Classmates and guests are invited.

CLUBS

Warren Women’s Connection will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at DiLucia’s Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road NE, Warren. The cost is $13 each, and child care is free. The program will be “Off to the Market” featuring Valley Market Place with Ron Coehn. Music will be provided by Mikala Kuneli, and the speaker will be Carol Reese about “Life’s Sudden Wake-up Calls!” Reservations are due by Thursday by calling 330-539-5837 or 330-638-6508. WWC is an affiliate of Stonecroft Ministries.

GUILDS

ASG-Designing Women will meet at 10 a.m. Aug. 8 at Domestic Sewing Center, 2011 Youngstown Road SE, Warren. A coat will be demonstrated. Take three yards of fabric, machine and basic sewing supplies. Call Violet Linger at 330-889-3398.

ASG-Joann Etc. will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 7386 Market St., Boardman. The group will work on a community service project. Call 330-744-8053.

ASG-Niles Silver Thimbles will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Shepherd of the Valley Assisted Living, 1500 McKinley Ave., Niles, in the activity room. Note the location change. Mary Zorn will demonstrate crazy patching. Take crazy patch rulers and scrap fabric. Call 330-538-2819.

Youngstown Area Weavers Guild will meet Saturday at Firestone Park in Columbiana for its annual spin in. Members will demonstrate spinning, weaving, chair caning and lace making and will answer questions on fiber arts and the techniques used. There will be samples of finished work on display. Members should arrive between 8 and 10 a.m. to set up. Take your wheels, looms, spindles, bobbin lace, caning, a comfortable chair and a table to display samples. Girard Knights of Columbus Council 2935 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at its hall, 122 N. State St.

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the parish house.

SERVICE CLUBS

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St.

The Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County meets each Wednesday at 6 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Guests and new members are welcome.

SINGLES

D.A.R.E. Singles Group, which meets at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman, has planned the following: 6 p.m. today, meet at old BW3 for the Italian Fest in downtown Youngstown; 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, luau at Tim Novosel Pavilion, Route 170; 5 p.m. Tuesday, play boccie in Boardman Park; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, music at Woodworth Park; 7:30 p.m. Thursday, new-member meeting at church; and Aug. 8, meet at dusk for movie night behind Poland Library.

SOCIETIES

Girard Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Barnhisel House, 1011 N. State St.

McDonald Historical Society will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday in the community room of the post office building.

St. Lucy Cultural Society of Christ, the Good Shepherd Church, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell, will meet for its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the church to finalize plans for the Feast of the Assumption celebration on Aug. 15 starting with a Mass at 5:30 p.m. and followed by a procession and benediction in the church. A reception will conclude the celebration. Deadline for reservations is Aug. 13 and the cost is $2 per person. Call 330-755-4141.

SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday. at Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, 260 Main St., Greenville, Pa., and at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Children’s Rehabilitation Center, 855 Howard-Wilson Road; Howland. These meetings are free and open to all caregivers and family members of a loved one living with Alzheimer’s or other form of dementia. For information call 330-788-9755.

Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Northside Medical Center, Medical Office Building A, 500 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown.

Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. tonight and every Friday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland; and at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday at Paige & Byrnes Insurance, 425 Niles-Cortland Road SE, Howland. TOPS 1262, McDonald, meets Wednesday in the senior citizens room at the post office building. Weigh-in is from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.; the meeting will follow. New members are welcome.
