Firefighters battled blazes at two vacant South Side homes early this morning.
Crews called to 2717 Tampa Ave. about 3:05 a.m. found heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the home. Reports said it appeared the fire started in a first floor bedroom and spread to the second floor. A back door was also open, reports said. Damage is listed at $15,000.
At 6:05 a.m. firefighters were called to a 528 Pasadena Ave. home where a fire was found on the first floor. Damage there is listed at $7,000.
There were no injuries. Both fires are under investigation.
