AKRON

The University of Akron announced today that Jim Tressel, the former head football coach at Youngstown State University and Ohio State University, is one of three finalists for the UA presidency. The other two finalists are Ronald A. Nykiel, provost and vice president of academic affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md., and Scott L. Wait, YSU is competing with Akron University for the privilege of hiring JT?

Boy, the YSU Board of Trustees better suspend the search/selection process and offer the position immediately.

Remember to act now....this is a limited offer only available for a brief time.....and if you call in the nest 10 minutes you will receive a second overpaid administrator absolutely free of charge....just pay shipping and handling charges as well as a big benefits and retirement package....call NOW...operators are standing by.....1-800-GET-FLEE(CED). .....this offer is only available in select states and to colleges and universities that are rated in the lowest tier of institutions of higher education.

This only shows why our Valleys movers and shakers have been trying to get Jim Tressel here and why the YSU Board of Trustees needs to move quickly.A person like Jim Tressel doesn't come along very often and its pretty much a lock that UA is going to offer him the job.Hope all of the posters here are happy when their boy Kasich starts dismantling our beloved school into a 2 year community college.Without a person at the helm of national recognition like Tressel ,we will have no leverage with King John if his lies get him re-elected.Kasich the jock-sniffer will not mess with someone still treated like royally by Buckeye Nation. If we pick a sterling PH,D with superior educational skills, its no big deal to King John,we already know that as a unionized university hes going after us,

first I read that tressel practically begged ua for the presidents' job. to paraphrase, I feel I am prefect and the most suited for the job, or something like that. then, just before the bell, he throws his vest into the ring for the ysu job. sounds like he was hedging his bets. bet on this you tressel lovers. if both universities offered him the job, you better believe he'd pick ua,. bigger, more prestigious, more money, and that's what jimmy boy is all about.

So he is all about bigger, more prestigious, more money jobs...Like when he turned down an interview for the Miami (Fla) job while still coach at YSU?
He donates millions to YSU and doesn't owe the univeristy a thing.
Was he supposed to withdraw his previous submission for the Akron job, in which he applied before Dunn ran out of town?

If he is chosen by Akron and accepts the position, it is because its a better fit for him. With all of the haters around here, why would he want to return?

Obama is President of 50 states; why can't Tressel be President of two universities? Results would be about the same.
