Police dog alerts cops to presence of drugs

Published: Fri, April 18, 2014 @ 11:11 a.m.

CAMPBELL

A 21-year-old Youngstown man and a 24-year-old Campbell woman were arrested on drug-related charges Thursday during a traffic stop.

Dajuan A. McGuire, of Cassius Avenue, and Jimmeka Tomara Abron, of Reed Avenue, face charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. McGuire was also cited for not having a front license plate in his car, and Abron for not wearing a seat belt.

Both are set to answer to those charges at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Campbell Municipal Court.

Police stopped McGuire shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Ninth Street and Wilson Avenue. The city's police dog then alerted officers to the presence of 5 grams of suspected marijuana and three suspected marijuana roaches in the car -- which were confiscated, along with $50 in cash.
