Collins in Mother’s Day show
Easy Street Productions and the Youngstown Symphony Society are teaming up to present “Collins Sings Cline: A Grand Ole Opry Salute” on Mother’s Day weekend at the Ford Family Recital Hall, 260 W. Federal St., downtown. Easy Street co-founder Maureen Collins will perform the songs that made country singer Patsy Cline a star, as well as a few of her own favorites. Shows will be at 8 p.m. May 10 and 2:30 p.m. May 11 in the intimate 600-seat Ford theater, in the DeYor Performing Arts Center. Collins will be joined by guest vocalist Natalie Sprouse. Two large screens will show scenes from Cline’s legendary career. Musical Director Jeff Sanders has arranged the selections to include fiddle and lap steel instruments to give the Easy Street Little Big Band an authentic country sound. Tickets are $25 ($22 for seniors, $20 for students, $15 for children 14 and under), plus handling. Patrons who purchase by midnight on Easter Sunday will receive a 20 percent discount off each ticket by using code OPRY260 by phone or online. A Mother’s Day buffet by chef Jeff Chrystal also is being offered by Overture Restaurant for an additional cost before and after the Sunday performance.
