Man accused of beating dog to death with bricks

Published: Fri, April 11, 2014 @ 12:15 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

A 32-year-old man is expected to be arraigned in municipal court this afternoon on charges he assaulted a woman and bludgeoned a dog to death with two bricks.

William Williams, 32, turned himself at the Mahoning County jail about 12:35 a.m. today on misdemeanor warrants for domestic violence and animal cruelty.

He is accused of scratching a woman during an argument April 3 at a home in the 100 block of Lauderdale Avenue and then beating her 4-year-old Maltese, “Gabby,” to death with two bricks.

Police had been looking for Williams most of this week before he turned himself in. He had a reckless homicide charge reduced from murder for the death of a homeless man in 2005 and served four years in prison on the charge, court records show.

Wow, why is this man even out of prison. I don't even have words to express my opinion. At least not any I would want my mother to read.

String him up in any empty lot in the city along with a pile of bricks. Charge $10.00 a brick. Problem solved.

they need to charge him with murder
just because it was an animal should not make any difference
my dogs are like my kids
they are part of a family too

There is a penalty for killing a dog with a brick but none for killing a child in the womb. This nation has strange priorities.

He already did 4 years for the death of man. If he gets more than 4 years for the murder of a dog there should be more outrage. Only in the US is the life of an animal worth more than a person. Strange times indeed.

Animal cruelty laws in Ohio are a joke. That's why you need to contact your state senators and demand that they pass Goddard's Law which will make animal cruelty a felony.
