Area players in the minor leagues


Steven Gruver, p, Fort Myers Miracle (Advanced-A). Gruver was drafted by the Twins in the seventh round of the 2011 draft. He has pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in two relief outings this season. He’s given up three hits, two walks and struck out three.


Eddie Rohan, c, Savannah Sand Gnats (A): Rohan was drafted by the Mets in the 50th round of the 2011 draft out of Winthrop. He is with Savannah but has not yet been activated for this season.


Justin Thomas, p, Salt Lake Bees (AAA): Thomas was a fourth-round pick by the Mariners in the 2005 draft. He is 1-0 this season with a 5.40 ERA, giving up three runs on five hits in five innings in his only start. He struck out seven and walked three.

Phil Klein, p, Frisco (Texas) Rough Riders (AA): Klein was drafted by the Rangers in the 30th round of the 2011 draft. He has given up one run in 2 1/3 innings over two relief appearances. He gave up three hits, four walks and struck out one.

Eric Marzec, p, Huntsville Stars (AA): Marzec was a 30th-round pick by the Brewers in the 2010 draft. He’s pitched two scoreless innings in two relief appearances, giving up one walk and no hits with three strikeouts.

Drew Dosch, 3b, Delmarva (A). Dosch was a 7th-round pick by the Orioles in the 2013 draft. He’s batting .211 in five games with four singles in 19 at-bats. He has two RBIs.
