A 38-year-old Hermitage, Pa., woman and a 21-year-old Sharon, Pa., man were arrested on drug charges during a Monday traffic stop.
Stacey Day, of Esther Lane, Hermitage, was charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kenneth Lee Thomas, of Prospect Street, Sharon, was charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and cited for failing to signal before changing course and for improperly turning at an intersection.
According to the police report, police stopped a car driven by Thomas at 6:30 p.m. after he swerved onto Jacobs Road from the eastbound lane and failed to properly use the turn signal.
Police noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car and initiated a search; they found a marijuana grinder containing 0.4 grams of suspected marijuana and a cigarette pack containing two baggies of suspected marijuana. Officers also confiscated $40 in cash from Thomas and $4,150 in cash from Day — the money was in her purse, which she had expressed constant concern over during the traffic stop.
Both Thomas and Day are set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
