BAZAARS

Relay for Life of Niles

Benefit Bazaar will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 19 at 1600 Salt Springs Road, Lordstown. There will be discount gift certificates for $10 for haircuts and manicures and 30-minute massages for $20. There also will be vendors, a bake sale and a basket auction. Admission is free. All proceeds will benefit Team Salon Jade with Relay for Life of Niles. Call 330-469-9258 for details.

BINGO, CARD PARTIES

Disability Options Network is sponsoring a bingo party Saturday at the Hungarian Club, 4 First St., Ellwood City, Pa. Doors will open at 10 a.m., and games will begin at 11. There also will be a 50-50 raffle and pull games. The event will support Western PA Adapt.

FESTIVALS

Vendors are needed for Celebrate Poland from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 28. Arts, crafts and nonprofit groups are sought for the annual craft show. The registration fee is $30 for a 10-by-15 outdoor space. Call Barbara Banks at 330 757-4584 for a contract and more information.

FLEA MARKETS

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, is having a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Vendors are welcome. Kielbasa, haluski and other foods will be available. For information call the Rev. Andrew Gromm at 330-799-8133.

FUNDRAISERS

Community Bill of Rights will benefit from a fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Boxcar Lounge, next to the B&O Station on Mahoning Avenue., Youngstown. There will be entertainment, food and games. CBR also will benefit from a bake sale fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at a farmers market at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St.

Poland Lions Club will host a garage sale and basket raffle fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at the Poland Masonic Lodge, 7685 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road. Baskets will include such items as a Swarovski crystal necklace, overnight stay at Mountaineer Resort, a Kindle and a Canon camera. The drawing will be at 2 p.m., and the winner need not be present. Pastries and coffee will be available. For information call Cathy Duck at 330-750-0423. Garage sale donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3 or May 10 at the lodge. All proceeds will benefit local charitable projects of the Lions.

RAFFLES

Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will host an Easter basket raffle and a 50-50 drawing Sunday after the noon Mass. There will be two baskets, each containing a ham, kolbasi and turkey with all the trimmings for family dinners on Easter, plus gift cards for gas, dining out and groceries. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5, and are available for sale after all Masses, from the office on today, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or from one of the volunteers. Winners do not have to be present.

SALES

TOPS 2191, Austintown, is sponsoring a Spring Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 17 at Wickliffe Presbyterian Church, 45 Idlewood Road, Austintown. Vendors are welcome. Tables are $20 each; space is limited. Call 330-774-1803 for details.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Junior Women’s League of Canfield is recruiting vendors for its 45th annual Fall Market on the Canfield Village Green. This year’s event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20. Vendors ranging from home-based businesses to arts and crafts merchandise to nonprofit organizations are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the community and provide scholarships for local high school students. For information call 330-506-4347.

TRIPS

St. Andrewes AME Church is planning a shopping trip to New York on May 2. The bus will leave at midnight, and shoppers will have all day May 3 in Manhattan and Jamaica Queens. Return to Youngstown will be after midnight. The cost is $95 with a $50 deposit due Sunday; the balance is due April 18. For reservations call 330-318-0741.

Trumbull County Travel Club has planned a day trip Saturday for wine tasting at Gervasi Winery, lunch at Mulligan’s and a stop at Harry London Chocolates and Anderson’s in the Village, all in the Canton area. The cost is $89 per person. On May 28 and 29, members will travel to the Kentucky Derby site. The trip includes dinner on the Ohio River and breakfast before a guided morning tour of the derby complex and lunch at Churchill Cafe. The afternoon will include Evan Williams’ bourbon experience at the Barrel House. The cost is $295 per person with a $50 deposit to reserve a seat. In July the group will take another two-day trip to Niagara on the Lake, Canada, for which a passport is a must. The cost is $275 per person with a $50 deposit due immediately.
