Suspect sought in shooting


The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of a March 15 shooting.

Marshals are looking for 22-year-old Dashonti Baker, who is accused in the shooting of Jaquez Brown in a SUV in a parking lot at the corner of South and Dewey avenues.

Brown was shot in the head and is recovering from his injuries.

Baker is black, 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 230 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to be hiding somewhere on the South Side of the city.

Zoning committee plans meeting


A special meeting of the Ellsworth Zoning Commission and the Ellsworth Township trustees will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at the town hall, 11125 Akron-Canfield Road. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the township’s land-use plan. The meeting will be facilitated by the consultant George Smerigan.
