YOUNGSTOWN

Police are investigating two homicides that occurred this weekend, one a shooting and the other a stabbing.

Just before 4 a.m. Saturday, police found James Brown, 33, dead of a gunshot wound to the head and lying in a pile of shattered glass on Truesdale Avenue near Shehy Street on the city’s East Side.

Around 1:30 a.m. today, police found Ivan West, 28, lying on the floor in a second-floor apartment at 107 Hilton Ave. on the city’s South Side with a stab wound to the chest, from which he later died.

No suspects are in custody in either homicide.

James Brown was just starting to turn his life around. Such a sad tragedy. I wonder how his employer will ever replace him
