Bank files suit against McClurkin Funeral Home

Published: Sat, September 28, 2013 @ 12:08 a.m.

Staff report

Farmers National Bank of Canfield has filed a lawsuit in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court against McClurkin Funeral Home of State Street, Girard, seeking payment of $274,044 in delinquent loans.

The suit names as defendants the funeral home; Robert J. McClurkin, Karen M. McClurkin, both of South State Street; and Patrick J. McClurkin and Tamara T. McClurkin, both of Abbey Street, Girard.

The suit says the McClurkins took out loans of $425,000 in May 2007. It doesn’t say when the loans became delinquent.

The Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors suspended the licenses of the funeral home and of funeral directors Robert J. McClurkin and Patrick J. McClurkin earlier this month, saying the funeral home stole more than $400,000 from consumers through improper use of funds for prepaid funerals.

This is beyond reprehensible. I sincerely hope the bank has laid some extremely heavy liens against all their homes, business holdings and..... including what had better become the once owned family funeral home. These people need to exit now. They have ruined themselves and their reputation with the public's trust.

Oh yes...let us NOT forget...the FBI needs to get involved here as well as the IRS. The state needs to impound all their state license plated cars, chauffeur licenses and anything connected to the transportation portion of their funeral business. Many fine jail cells are always available for your type of "white" collar crime. Let's see how all this happened..... you all got hooked on playing the Ohio lottery and.... then could not stop laundering money through the companies accounts.....and the you all had to keep out to Vegas to try to recover what you all blew? Hmmm??? Pack the hell up McClurkin's. Hope your trial comes up fast. Shameful. Just are all beyond tolerable. How dare all you big ass family thieves steal from your own bread & butter, the public, who were relying on you to present them one last time and then see them to their final resting spot. DISGUSTING!!! FILTHY!!!! ARROGANT SCUM BAGS!! Glad my family never did any business with you carpet baggers.
