Despite the rainy fall weather, the spirits of members of the Junior Women’s League of Canfield were high during the group’s 44th annual Fall Market on the Green Sept. 21. The group registered 134 vendors which offered a wide variety of items, including holiday crafts, food, jewelry, clothing, baked goods, fall flowers, collectibles and, of course, pumpkins.

Heather Davis, Fall Market on the Green chairperson, said the Fall Market is the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser.

“We use the proceeds from the Fall Market to fund three scholarships given to Canfield High School seniors each spring. This past spring we also added an art scholarship. Proceeds are also donated to several local charities,” Davis said.

Davis also stated vendors come to sell their wares from all over the state.

“We have a large variety of vendors who come from all over Ohio and surrounding states. Several of them are repeat vendors who come here year after year,” Davis said.

According to Junior Women’s League of Canfield member Tina Marie Czarnecki-Gasior, it’s important to the organization to give back to the community.

“The Junior Women’s League of Canfield promotes volunteerism and fellowship. We support the community through several events, including the Fourth of July bicycle decorating contest, the Wine and Cheese Taste, which benefits local charities including Special Olympics and Second Harvest Food Band. We also work with Kids Grieve Too, Inc.,” Czarnecki-Gasior said.

For membership information, call Czarnecki-Gasior at 330-550-4876.

“We are always looking for new members,” Czarnecki-Gasior said.
