YSU president recommends reductions, delays and layoffs

YOUNGSTOWN

Due to a budget deficit, Youngstown State University President Randy Dunn is recommending cost-saving measures including delaying technology purchases, voluntary employee furloughs, voluntary vacation day reductions, personnel reductions, layoffs, energy savings and concurrent and future operating expense reductions.

The YSU Board of Trustees is expected to vote on the recommendation this afternoon.

This is a developing story. Read more in Thursday’s Vindicator.

Since Randy Dunn is the newest employee at YSU, and makes $375,000/year, which is 8 times what the average full-time employee at YSU makes, I suggest he starts by laying off himself.

Well President Dunn, how about we cut your wages and do away with your entertainment expenses. Also maybe you can start paying for your own house while you are at it :)
