The township will have a scrap-tire collection from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
Tires will be collected only from Liberty residents; no material will be accepted from commercial businesses. Only tires taken off rims will be taken, and a maximum of eight tires will be accepted per resident.
Pistol class offered
Hubbard Conservation Club, 1760 Wick-Campbell Road, is offering a CCW-NRA basic pistol class that meets requirements to apply for an Ohio concealed-carry license.
The class will be next Monday and Oct. 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. Ohio law instruction and range time will be Oct. 2 beginning at 6 p.m.
All necessary equipment will be supplied. The class costs $97 per student or $180 per couple.
Benefit wing event
The Steel Valley Wing Challenge will be 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Tiffany’s Banquet Center, 601 Bedford Road, to raise money for Homes for Kids Inc. and Child and Family Solutions of Niles.
The event will feature wings from vendors such as Wing Warehouse Warren, Up A Creek Tavern, The Rig, RP McMurphy’s, Uncle Sil’s Bar & Grille and Lake Tavern.
Tickets are $20 each and $8 for children 13 and under and they can be purchased by calling 330-544-8005, ext. 534.
Homes for Kids and Child and Family Solutions are nonprofit organizations that specialize in providing foster homes for children with emotional or behavioral issues, frequently brought on by abuse or neglect by their biological families.
