Promoting the event are, from left in back, Anna Aey, co-founder of Yellow Brick Place; Rose Liguore, owner of The Children’s Loft; and Donna Detwiler, co-founder of Yellow Brick Place. In the front, from left, are models Ava Wilson, 11, and her sister, Maria Wilson, 5, both from Columbiana; and Keaton Kimble, 10, and his sister, Katelyn Kimble, 6, both from Struthers. The group gathered at The Children’s Loft, in Boardman.
A fashion show fundraiser, “Survivor’s Bloom,” will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at Antone’s Banquet Centre, 8578 Market St., to benefit Yellow Brick Place.
Anna Aey and Donna Detwiler, both cancer survivors, co-founded the nonprofit organization in 2010. The goal is to establish a wellness center for those diagnosed with cancer. All services would be free of charge and nonmedical.
The nonprofit’s board is evaluating whether to build or rent a space.
Canned food and other nonperishable food item will be collected at the door to benefit St. Vincent de Paul dining hall in Youngstown.
Tickets cost $30 per person and include a luncheon and fashions provided by Talbot’s and the Children’s Loft. Tickets can be bought by calling Donna Detwiler at 330-770-0808 or sending an email to email@example.com.
