Mesopotamia Fall Heritage Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Mesopotamia Commons at the corner of state Routes 87 and 534. This is the 12th annual event hosted by the Mesopotamia Chamber of Commerce. There will be skilled artisans from the area that specialize in traditional Amish and Yankee crafts. Crafters in period costume will perform outdoor demonstrations including: soap making, quilting, rag-rug weaving, basket weaving, blacksmithing, candle making, leather working, spinning and more. Homemade ice cream, apple butter-making, an Amish bake sale with fried pies and a lunch stand will be offered.
