Five-car crash in Poland includes police cruiser; no one hurt

A five-car accident that included a Poland Township cruiser led to one driver receiving a citation. No one was injured.

The driver cited for assured cleared distance, Nicholas Maillis, 17, of Poland did not stop in time to avoid hitting the stopping vehicle in front of him while driving down state Route 170 in the village at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

The collision caused the additional two cars in front of the one Maillis hit to hit the cars in front of them. The last car in the line up to be hit was the Poland Township cruiser, which suffered minor damage.
