The Canfield High School and Canfield Village Middle School volleyball teams were introduced to the community during Meet the Team Aug. 12.

During the event, offered in the high school gym, each of the players on the varsity, junior varsity, freshman, eighth-grade and seventh-grade teams introduced themselves, stated their positions and introduced their parents in the stands.

Canfield High School Athletic Director Greg Cooper welcomed the crowd of family and friends.

“Welcome to our volleyball program’s Meet the Team. Thank you in advance for your assistance throughout the season and for allowing us to spend time with your daughters. We have had great success developing outstanding young athletes and our volleyball coaching staff is the finest around,” Cooper said.

Cooper then introduced new Varsity Coach Maria Householder.

“We are all very excited for this year. Our players have been working very hard and give 110 percent every day. It’s going to be a fun year and we are going to have a great time. We are really looking forward to this season,” Householder said.

At that time, the seventh-grade team, with Coach Erin Angelo and Assistant Coach Ashley Milligan, took the floor to introduce themselves.

Following the seventh-grade team was the eighth-grade team, Coach Liz O’Hara and Assistant Coach Holly Rolla.

Freshman team coaches Cara Cupler and Marykate Andrews brought their team on the floor for introductions, followed by the Junior Varsity Team and its coach Amanda Fabijance.

To end the evening, the Varsity Team, coached by Householder, took the floor to introduce themselves and their parents.

The Canfield Volleyball Boosters will have a Wine Taste and Chinese Auction at St. Michael’s Family Life Center from 7-10 p.m. Sept. 21. The evening will include a sampling of eight wines from Ohio Wine Imports, light hors d’oeuvres from Aulizio’s Catering and dessert from The Mocha House.
